The Kabristan

It was July of 1992; the new academic session had just begun.
As always, he was performing among top best of the class. At the end of
first term exams as we were shown the copies of our toils and spoils, he was
filled with joy of achievement.
Suharsh was becoming a top eye catcher of the class. Although a bit short on height, but fairish somewhat, he was admired by the both the sexes of the class.
Our Gang of four, Kritashva Verma, Puneet Pathak, Suharsh Dixit and I, were very happy in ourselves. Kritashva, a jack of all, Puneet, too long to analyze in one go, Suharsh showing his newly acquired knowledge of desi slangs, and me, used to meet regularly in the park adjacent to my house.

For the age of students of class vi we were quite curious and explorative.
One day, as we were gossipping about ghosts and witches, we got the idea of exploring a kabristan(graveyard) nearby for its haunted guavas.
A suitable date was decided and we went off for the trip.
Hiding from the gatekeeper and passers of road, we jumped in one by one..
kritashva been more ecstatic, pounced upon a loaded branch. Plucking one each we came out and suddenly someone screamed...
Tum Log kya kar rahe ho? (What you people are up to?)
We were not in a position of looking back for the source of voice..
We ran away at the maiximum of our speeds.
There was a Teela (a hillock) nearby which had some devastated buildings. We stopped
on the grassy meadow and looked back.. No one was there. Now what was to be done
of the guavas. It was our victory against the dark powers and we were going to
celebrate it..
